César Portela designed the Fisterra Cementery located in A Coruña, Spain, following the slope of the hill, without any fences, with the ever-present expanse of the sea in the background. The cemetery is made of small concrete constructions grouped together along an existing route. Herringbone Houses by Alison Brooks Architects
The design of the Herringbone Houses, projected by Alison Brooks Architects, seeks to integrate the houses with the wooden setting through a continuous herringbone patterned timber surface. The wooden shell generates an apparent lightness to the houses. The living rooms are recessed behind deep overhangs that provide shade, direct views to the south-east and shelter the ground floors entrance areas.
