House Rambed by Quim Larrea & Katherine Bedwell

Quim Larrea & Katherine Bedwell designed a house inspired in those Californian homes designed by Richard Neutra. The house is located nearby a natural park 3 kilometers of Barcelona, Spain.

Surrounded by pine trees, oaks and holm oaks, the house with a V-shape plan, levitates on the site in order to simulate weightlessness. The materials chosen, limestone, wood and steel, integrate with the surroundings, selecting only sober and neutral tones that blend seamlessly with the site’s natural background setting.

The program of the house is adapted for a young couple with two small daughters. Inside, comfort, functionality and transparency is achieved with fluid spaces that allow a continuous relation with the exterior of the house.

  1. Wow – I absolutely love the floating stairs. Actually, I love almost everything about this house. Our place is in a similar setting in Canada, but rather built in the 70′s. Love when terrain is left to nature.
