Y House by SousaSantos Arquitectos

Y-House1

SousaSantos Arquitectos designed the Y House as a vision device in the medieval town of Obidos, Portugal.

The design was focused in a system that rules the way the inhabitant sees the outside world and simultaneously the way the outside sees the dwellers.

The big curved window creates a visual path that, like a camera traveling, reveal the image of the landscape. The idea of landscape as an image and its importance in the domestic living were the main design focus of this scheme.

That house is just awesome. I wonder who decided they wanted a house shaped like that.
