Sketches of Frank Gehry

sketches-of-gehry.jpg

Sketches of Frank Gehry by Sydney Pollack.

The documentary film gives us an idea of the evolution of Gehry as an innovator and the way he arrived at his present position.

Beginning with Gehry’s own original sketches for each major project, the film explores Gehry’s process of turning these abstract drawings, first into tangible, three-dimensional models, then into finished buildings of titanium and glass, concrete and steel, wood and stone.

In the film we can find some of the best examples of Gehry’s work, like the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao (Spain) and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles (USA).

At the end, when all is said and done, we see a man that like all artists is never satisfied by his own work.
