Despite the lack of information about the house in Pezo von Ellrichshausen Architects‘ website, I really like the concept of the house and I want to share it with all of you.

The house is made from one rectangular piece with a lot of holes that serve as internal courtyards. I also love the pointed roofs with the skylights on top, creating a beautiful internal effect. This two facts create a house full of light.

Light House Cinema commissioned DTA Architects to combine the insertion of four art house cinema volumes into existing basement voids with the creation of an informal circulation “route” providing a dramatic experience for the public.

The conceptual approach originated from the desire to express the individual cinema forms creating an increased tension between surface and void. The contrast between the insertions and the existing enclosure is achieved through the expression and separation of form and material.

The voids are employed to create a spatial sequence along the “route”, from entrance, to cafe-bar, to terrace, to concession, to gallery, to concession, to cinema screen.

Nendo designed the sales space for Kenzo Parfums in the department store Printemps in Paris, France.

Kenzo’s image is known for its particularly refined yet warm style. This duality is part of the essence so they used it as the basic concept behind the space design. First, they deconstructed the Kenzo logo, and rebuilt its pieces into random patterns that adds an iconic duality in the combination of light and shadow that filters through the pattern.

The choice to use different materials,steel coated with glossy white paint on the outside and dark wood on the inside, emphasizes the concept by creating a conscious contrast of color and materials.

Finally, they coordinated counters, stools, lamps and mirrors as well turned the space into a “nest” that gently surrounds the dualism that is Kenzo.

Cecilia Puga designed this unusual house located in Los Vilos, Chile, overlooking the sea.

The structure is about three monolithic containers of simple bay in reinforced concrete were designed with a layout of perforations in series, in which repetition and intervals allowed for versatility. A spiral staircase made of prefabricated cement was incorporated to vertically connect the upper volume that contains the living room and the kitchen-dining room.

As the house had to accommodate a numerous family of different generations, it was decided that each activity of the house would be dissected to separate the bedrooms, kitchen-dinning room and living room into three autonomous pavilions so as to ensure total independence among them.

Herreros Arquitectos designed this unusual country house in Mallorca, Spain, with a steel shell that protects the house.

The house uses an existing stone wall from an old house. The house is divided in two parts: one part is oriented north and contains the kitchen, the bedroom and the bathroom; the other part is oriented south and contains the living room and the studio.

Located in Bad Fischau, Austria, the single house projected by Katja Nagy enjoys from an upper living area with lake views.

The house is a homogeneous volume made from a single material for the facade and the roof, minimizing the house exterior. Inside de house, the upper level englobes the living area and the kitchen, while in the basement we find the bedrooms. The basement leads to the sunken garden that offers not only intimacy but also protection of the strong wind on the lakeside.

threefoldarchitects designed the new shop and offices for Pure Groove Records in London.

Pure Groove Recods is located in an existing building that is being completely refurbished and transformed across two floors to create a dramatic new shop, office, exhibition and performance space.

The main display wall for items on sale is a series of five steel rails running around the main walls of the space, utilising laboratory clamps and fixings to hold the merchandise. The display is centred around the Pure Groove top 100 releases, each one is numbered andreferenced to the bottom rail of folded steel and vinyl hanging record bags which carry the stock.

Not only is the space a shop but the brief demanded the creation of flexible space for exhibition and regular live performance catering for a changing volume of occupants.

The Garden House designed by Takeshi Hosaka Architects, is a house consisting of indoor and outdoor spaces.

Although the indoor and outdoor are different environments, they are made from similar dimensions, structures, finishes and furniture. The whole house feels like a garden, where the living scenes expand to both indoor and outdoor.
