Choisy-le-Roi Bridge

Jacques Ferrier Architects designed the new Choisy-le-Roi bridge that crosses the express railway lines and connects the port district to the town center. The 70 meter long bridge has a traffic lane in each direction contained within wide footpaths to either side. Pedestrian Bridge by Miró Rivera Architects

With a design inspired in the reeds that cover the lake, Miró Rivera Architects projected this pedestrian bridge that crosses the Lake Austin in Texas, USA. The bridge is in fact not for public consumption, it links the main house to a guest house across the lake. Paper Bridge by Shigeru Ban

Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, known for his eco-friendly lightweight materials, lifted the veil on a paper bridge over the Gardon River in southern France. Shigeru’s cardboard-tube structure is strong enough to carry 20 people at the time and will be open to the public for three more weeks, before it is dismantled for the rainy season.
