Dan Hisel projected and built himself this sauna located in a forest near the Saranac River gorge in upstate New York. The outer shell is completely clad in mirror panels and the path leading to in is positioned diagonally so that no person approaching the building is reflected. Poustinia Cabins by Bates Maher Architects

This poustinia cabins at the Glencomeragh House Retreat Center designed by Bates Maher Architects, are located in the valley between the Comeragh Mountains and Slievenamon, Ireland. Each poustinia is oriented to capture different views over the surrounding countryside and to give a variance in sun light as the day progresses. Architect Olle Lundberg, from Lundberg Design, own this extraordinary cabin. Most of the cabin has been built using reclaimed materials from various projects over the years.
