H&M Shop by Estudio Mariscal

The new H&M Shop that just opened in Barcelona was entirely designed by Estudio Mariscal. The new shop is housed in an old headquarters office. They respected the building’s original architecture because its vestige of neoclassical architecture from the 19th century. School Extension by AAVP Architecture

To create the school extension in a historical context, AAVP Architecture looked to the typology of the farmhouse. The new building speaks the same language as the older ones but has a higher level of abstraction. It looks as if it has been modelled on a child’s drawing: a simple volume with a pointed roof, big, deep-set windows and brightly coloured playrooms.
